Professor Emeritus Snehendu Kar was recently awarded a Fulbright-Nehru Distinguished Chair award for pursing his work in India. He will be completing research for a book project on "Women's Empowerment for Global Health Promotion" for the Oxford University Press. The book includes a meta-analysis of eighty successful self-organized movements by ordinary women across the world, but he could not include cases that have failed for comparison since no one writes about failure. To gather information for comparison, this award is to document several cases from India that have failed and to learn why. He will also introduce Health Psychology programs in two leading Indian universities.
