Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Tickets will go on sale starting February 7th, 2019

This event is limited to current UCLA graduate students and UCLA postdocs.

During this three-course dinner, graduate students and postdocs will learn the rules for navigating a professional lunch or dinner, which is often part of the search process in professional interviewing contexts - including academia, and an integral part of professional careers.  Students will also learn tips on how to select appropriate restaurants, timing of business discussions, addressing wait staff and other essential skills, enhancing their confidence and comfort in professional-social settings.

Expert, author and consultant, Mary Crane has been delivering high energy, high impact programs to leading universities and Fortune500 companies for more than 10 years.  Her fundamental message has remained the same: while an individual's IQ and GPA helps open doors, critically important people skills help land the job, close the deal, and build teams that transform organizations.  Her seminars provide participants with the skills they need to put their best, most effective selves forward.

Mary Crane is the author of the "100 Things You Need to Know" book series, which focuses on professional development areas such as starting work, networking, business etiquette, and time management. Please use this link to get more information about these resources and how you can order the books online. Additionally, Ms. Crane will have the books available for purchase at the event, so please bring cash if you are interested in purchasing one or more.
