Film Screening, "No Mas Bebes", a documentary produced by UCLA faculty that tells the story of how Mexican immigrant women were coerced into tubal ligation in various Los Angeles County Hospitals during the 1960s-1970s. Through a young Chicana lawyer, a small group of these women fought for their rights in what went on to become a landmark civil rights suit that help shape discussion around women's reproductive freedom. We invite you to come watch a special screening of the film and hear this powerful, historic documentary. Following the film, there will be a discussion led by director, producer and Academy Award nominee, Professor Renee Tajima-Pena; and producer Professor Virginia Espino as well as Dr. Kristyn Brandi from the Department of OB-GYN at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
